More MTW one-liners
Funny one-liners from a recent epiosode of “Mock the week“:-
- I bought a slimming magazine in WH Smiths. I didn’t read it; I just wanted the big bar of Galaxy chocolate for a quid.
- I was in a lingerie shop; I asked: “are these knickers satin?” and the sales assistant said: “No, their new”.
- I went to buy a Christmas tree. The bloke said: “are you going to put it up yourself?”. I said: “no, I was thinking of the living room”.
- Bought a chameleon…lost it.
- Why is it that when women go to the toilet in pairs, no-one minds, but when I did it, I got thrown out of the greengrocers.
- I got into a fight with my acupuncturist…he said he had never felt better.
- According to the vet, my cat is in Heat. I didn’t even know she was famous.
- I bought an Advent calendar from a Jehovahs’ witness; behind every door is a little bloke telling me to fuck off.

Walking with Dinosaurs
Decided to take a short break away to Auckland to see the much-publicized Walking with Dinosaurs show at the Vector Arena.
After checking in to the nearby Barry Court motel (handy to the arena and great harbour views) and having a bit of a stroll around, it was time to join a steady stream of people with tickets in their hands and kids in tow.

Rave: NOT a stairLIFT to Heaven!
Well…last night’s Led Zep gig was a bummer to miss (even with all the anti-touting procedures) and on the whole the reviews are pretty good.
The video clip on the Beeb’s website looked awesome.
Gone of course is Robert Plant’s screaming vocal, and from all accounts the band’s more legendary excesses have been replaced with requests for cups of tea. But the band doesn’t seem to have lost any of it’s showmanship and raw, growling sound.
Jimmy Page’s recent finger injury seems to have recovered well and he certainly proved that his talent remains undiminished by time. Likewise, John Paul Jones’ amazing musical versatility has definitely improved with age and Jason Bonner did his dad proud.
*sigh* wish I was THERE.

Rave: Ezio Gig

Last night, Gavin and I went over to the Halfmoon in Putney to see Ezio live.
The Halfmoon is a unique music venue. With a history of nearly 50 years of live music, it has a proud history of promoting new talent and bands. This is where Kate Bush made her debut, where Elvis Costello was resident before signing a record deal and where U2 had their first sold-out British gig.
