<p>The <a href="http://www.depechemode.com/" title="Visit the offical Depeche Mode website (opens in new window)" target="_blank">Depeche Mode</a> gig at the O2 stadium in London on Saturday 20th February 2010 has been a long time coming.</p>
<p>Having bought the tickets over a year ago, the planned 30th May &#8217;09 gig offered the usual agonizing wait, but then to find it was postponed for another 9 months was excruciating! However, the day finally arrived and not without a little anticipation &#8211; not only to see Depeche Mode again, which I have only seen live twice before, but also for the venue; the London O2 Arena I had been told is an amazing stadium and with great acoustics.</p>

<div class="alignright"><a href="http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Led_Zeppelin_by_p_a_h.jpg"></a></div>
<p>Well&#8230;last night&#8217;s <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7135200.stm" title="BBC Article (opens in new window)" target="_blank">Led Zep gig</a> was a bummer to miss (even with all the anti-touting procedures) and on the whole the <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7138311.stm" title="BBC Article (opens in new window)" target="_blank">reviews</a> are pretty good.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/check/player/nol/newsid_7130000/newsid_7137700?redirect=7137760.stm&amp;news=1&amp;bbwm=1&amp;nbram=1&amp;nbwm=1&amp;bbram=1&amp;asb=1" title="BBC Video clip (opens in new window)" target="_blank">video clip</a> on the Beeb&#8217;s website looked awesome.</p>
</p>
<p>Gone of course is Robert Plant&#8217;s screaming vocal, and from all accounts the band&#8217;s more legendary excesses have been replaced with requests for cups of tea. But the band doesn&#8217;t seem to have lost any of it&#8217;s showmanship and raw, growling sound.</p>
<p>Jimmy Page&#8217;s recent <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7074382.stm" title="BBC Article (opens in new window)" target="_blank">finger injury</a> seems to have recovered well and he certainly proved that his talent remains undiminished by time. Likewise, John Paul Jones&#8217; amazing musical versatility has definitely improved with age and Jason Bonner did his dad proud.</p>
<p>*sigh* wish I was THERE.</p>

<p>Last night, Gavin and I went over to the <a title="Wikipedia link: Halfmoon Cafe (opens in new tab / window)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Half_Moon,_Putney" target="_blank">Halfmoon in Putney</a> to see <a title="Visit Ezio website (opens in new window)" href="http://www.ezio.co.uk" target="_blank">Ezio</a> live.</p>
<p>The Halfmoon is a unique music venue. With a history of nearly 50 years of live music, it has a proud history of promoting new talent and bands. This is where Kate Bush made her debut, where Elvis Costello was resident before signing a record deal and where U2 had their first sold-out British gig.</p>
